BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Four juveniles were arrested following an armed robbery near a Bellingham movie theater.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says the victims had arranged an online clothing sale at the Regal Cinema complex around 8 p.m. on Monday, July 27.

Investigators learned that three boys between the ages of 13 and 16, who were the intended buyers, grabbed the clothing during the meetup and ran away.

When the sellers chased after them, police say a boy threatened to stab one of them with a knife. A fourth boy who was acting as a lookout also implied he had a gun and claimed he was part of a gang.

Officers surrounded the perimeter and found the boys along a nearby trail system with help from a drone and K-9 teams. Police recovered the stolen clothing, but the knife was never found.

The four boys were booked into the Whatcom County Juvenile Detention Center on charges including felony harassment, robbery and theft.
