FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A young man was arrested following an armed robbery in Ferndale.

City of Ferndale spokesperson Megan Juenemann says the victim told police on Tuesday that they had agreed to sell items to an unknown buyer online.

The two met on Eagle Parkway, but when the seller arrived, the buyer threatened them with a pistol and ran away with the items.

Juenemann says the incident is similar to another robbery that was reported in the same area the previous week.

An investigation identified an 18-year-old Ferndale man as the suspect and, after being granted a search warrant, officers found the stolen items at his home along with a loaded pistol.

They arrested the man in the early morning of Wednesday, Feb. 4 and booked him into the Whatcom County Jail, where he remains on $200,000 bail.
