UPDATE: Everson sees major flooding, residents under voluntary evacuation order

EVERSON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Everson is under a voluntary evacuation order.

In a Facebook post from Thursday morning, Dec. 11, Everson police say the Nooksack River crested higher than previously thought, reaching just above the major flood stage and the Twinview levee is currently overtopping.

Significant flooding is being reported in Nooksack, Everson and Sumas.

All residents north of the river in Everson are being advised to leave the area, and roads north of the Nooksack bridge are currently closed.
