BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Make sure you’re aware of some recent changes if you’re driving to the emergency room in Bellingham.

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center says the ER’s main drop-off entrance will be closed through early February.

Starting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, anyone dropping patients off at the ER should go in through the entrance at Squalicum Parkway and Ellis Street.

Some patient and visitor parking spots have also closed outside the entrance, but the hospital says there’s more space to the west of the ER and on the east side of the Fountain Building.

Crews are doing installation work on the road near the usual drop-off entrance as part of ongoing construction for the Peter Paulsen Pavilion project.

The pavilion, expected to begin opening in 2027, will expand the hospital’s emergency response services, among other upgrades.
