BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bellingham’s total DUI count for the year is continuing a concerning trend.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says that between Jan. 1 and Sept. 9, 318 DUI arrests have been made within the Bellingham city limits.

That’s more arrests than there are days in 2025 that have already passed.

The number of citywide DUIs this year is also significantly higher than during the same time periods between 2019 and 2024.

Lt. Murphy clarified that the 318 arrests only count for DUI charges, not vehicular assaults or hit and runs where drugs or alcohol may have been a factor.

She adds that the Labor Day Weekend accounted for 8 DUI arrests within city limits this year.
