MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The annual Tulip Festival Street Fair in downtown Mount Vernon returns on Friday, April 19.

GoSkagit reports the annual event is celebrating its 40th year, promising entertainment, food trucks and around 150 different vendors. 40 of the vendors will be new to the street fair.

The Tulip Tunes free festival will feature three days of live music with local artist performances at Pine Square in Downtown Mount Vernon. Cascade Cody, Friends of the Ghost and Bellingham-based Sweetwood are among the bill of artists scheduled to perform.

Also new this year will be a free bike valet, and anyone who rides their bike to the fair will receive a discount on beer from Mount Vernon’s own District Brewing and be entered into a raffle put on by the Skagit Bicycle Club. The bike valet service will be available at the corner of Central Avenue and West 10th street during the fair hours. Velo Kids staff members will safely store the bikes while visitors explore the festivities.

The Mount Vernon Downtown Association will be debuting a new layout for vendors that they say will make the event more accessible for those with special needs.

The family-friendly fair runs through Sunday with so much for the whole family to explore.
