WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A key deadline is approaching ahead of next month’s primary election.

The Whatcom County Auditor’s Office said residents need to register to vote or update their registration by Monday, July 27, if they want to do so online or by mail.

After Monday, people can only do those in-person at the auditor’s office, which is expected to have long lines on election week.

Ballots were mailed out last Wednesday, July 15 for the Aug. 4 primary.

The auditor’s office said any registered voter who has not yet received their ballot should contact their Election Division for a replacement.

Ballots are due at an official drop box by 8 p.m. on election day or must be postmarked by Aug. 4.

The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing by next Tuesday, July 28.
