BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – There’s a new park in Bellingham’s Birchwood neighborhood.

The City of Bellingham is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Storybrook Park on Friday, Feb. 13.

The seven-acre park, located at 2927 Maplewood Ave., features a playground, trails, a forest loop and is ADA accessible from Cherrywood Avenue.

The park has been in the works for five years and involved input from the community and students from Birchwood Elementary School.

Storybrook Park also features an art installation blending human presence with the natural beauty of the area.

The property was purchased by the city using funding from the Greenways Levy and officially opened to the public on Friday, Feb. 6.
