WENATCHEE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Chelan County Sheriff is expressing gratitude for an outpouring of help as their search for a father suspected of killing his three young daughters continues.
Sheriff Mike Morrison says in a statement that the Spokane County Sheriff has sent two helicopters to assist in the search for Travis Decker.
Federal officers are also assisting in the investigation, and Morrison thanks the public for the many tips and offers of help and equipment that have come from the public.
The three girls, ages 5, 8 and 9, were found dead near Decker’s truck on Monday, June 2 at a campground in the Leavenworth area. Their mother reported them missing Friday after Decker failed to return them from a scheduled visitation.
Decker received extensive training while in the military and is thought to have mental health issues. He is described as white, 5′ 8″ tall, 190 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
Morrison will offer more details at a news conference at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
