Chance to view northern lights over Whatcom County tonight, cloudy weather permitting

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The stars have aligned, and those beautiful northern lights may be visible yet again in Whatcom County tonight.

NOAA’s aurora forecast for tonight show that the view line for the slightest chance of seeing the geomagnetic phenomenon falls south of Washington.

While that view line often falls south of our region, the sky is usually too cloudy to see any northern lights.

Cloudy and rainy conditions are expected to continue in Whatcom County tonight, but some partial visibility may be on the menu for some county residents.

If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the lightshow, auroras are usually visible shortly after sunset or just before sunrise in the northern sky.

Send your photos of the northern lights to news@mybellinghamnow.com for a chance to be published on MBN.
