Car crash caused by medical issue kills Sumas man

SUMAS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was killed following a crash in Sumas.

Washington State Patrol says that the driver, identified as 48-year-old Sebastian Gomez of Sumas, experienced a medical issue while heading north on SR 547 late Friday, Sept. 18.

Gomez’s car went off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree.

WSP did not specify what medical issue led to the crash, but noted Gomez was not wearing a seatbelt when he was found.
