SUMAS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Canadian law enforcement carried out the largest-ever drug seizure at the Sumas border crossing late last year.

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) released details on Tuesday, Feb. 10 of the incident that took place on Nov. 22, 2025.

It says border officers found a dozen boxes containing 314 kg of methamphetamine that were hidden within a commercial truck and trailer.

CBSA says the driver was a foreign national named Satnam Singh, who was on the way back to Canada from the United States.

Singh was arrested and charged with meth possession with the intent to import and traffic.

The historic seizure equaled nearly a third of the total meth that CBSA had seized throughout the entire Pacific Region up until that point.

“This large seizure represents another truckload of illegal drugs that will not end up in our communities. It is a product of the dedicated work by the CBSA and RCMP who are on the front lines in the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime,” said The Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Public Safety. “Through their efforts, we are securing our borders, dismantling international crime networks and keeping Canadians safe.”
