BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A special election is coming up for some Whatcom County residents.

The county Auditor has announced the election will take place on Tuesday, April 22.

Voters in the Meridian School District will try again to pass a nearly $71 million bond measure that would fund a new Meridian Middle School.

A similar measure did not meet the 60% threshold needed to pass in the 2024 November election.

Ballots will be mailed out to over 8200 registered voters in the county on April 2.
