BRIEF: New FEMA assistance center to open in Ferndale

FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A new flood assistance center is opening up as the deadline approaches to apply for aid.

FEMA said that it will open a new location at the Ferndale Pavilion Community Center starting Thursday, May 28.

Anyone impacted by the December flooding is encouraged to file applications with FEMA or the SBA before the June 10 deadline.

Federal assistance through FEMA can include funding for house repairs, temporary living situations and any other costs incurred from the floods.

The new center will be open Thursday, May 28 through Saturday, May 30, then again from June 3 through June 5.
