BRIEF: Man accused of sneaking meth into Whatcom County Jail faces additional charges

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man is facing additional charges after being caught with narcotics in the Whatcom County Jail.

Bellingham Police say that the 27-year-old man was arrested early Thursday, April 9 on suspicion of DUI.

Officers searched the suspect and found he was carrying a meth pipe, but he denied having any other substances on him.

At the jail, a corrections officer discovered the suspect was hiding a small bag of methamphetamine in his sock.

He now faces an additional charge of being in possession of drugs within a correctional facility.
