BRIEF: Bellingham man arrested on child pornography charges

BELLINGHAM, WA. – (MyBellinghamNow.com) A Bellingham man is in custody after allegedly possessing child pornography.

Court documents state that Homeland Security began investigating the suspect in March of 2021.

A federal search warrant later that year allowed investigators to seize electronics from the suspect’s Elm Street home in Bellingham.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children found nearly 300 photos and videos of child sex abuse victims within the seized electronics.

Police arrested the suspect, 35-year-old Gabriel Bassett, on Thursday, January 25th.
