BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Planning is now underway for the second phase of renovations to the Bellingham Public Library’s central branch.

The first floor of the library was remodeled in 2021 as the first phase of the project. Phase 2 will make renovations to the ground floor meeting space, children’s library area, main floor entrance and upper floor staff areas. Additional upgrades include the addition of HVAC units and the potential for the public meeting space to be improved for after-hours use.

The library began its initial design phase this month with the consultant architect Miller Hull Partnership. Construction is expected to begin in February 2025 and completed by early Summer 2026.
