BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – One of Bellingham’s most popular parks is back and better than ever.

Bellingham Parks and Recreation says the new playground at Bloedel Donovan Park is now open following nearly two months of construction.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the park was closed since late August so crews could upgrade it for the first time in over 25 years.

The new play area has separate equipment for young children and school-aged kids.

It includes over 40 play features, including slides, climbers, swings and 11 elevated features that are ramp accessible to wheelchairs.

Despite the reopening, Parks and Rec says there’s still a few final touches that need to be made in the coming weeks.
