Bellingham’s new Trader Joe’s location opens on Meridian Street

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A line of excited customers wrapped around the building on Thursday morning as a new Trader Joe’s store opened in Bellingham.

Located at 4255 Meridian Street, the new storefront becomes Bellingham’s second Trader Joe’s location.

Trader Joe’s employees celebrated the grand opening with music from the Meridian High School band and cheers from inside the store. Over a hundred customers were lined up around the building with reusable bags in hand.

Bianca and Tony Summers purchased a plant to become the first customers at the new Trader Joe’s.

“I wanted something to keep to know that when I look at it, I know it’s the first thing that was purchased here,” Summers said.

According to Trader Joe’s, the new location is operated by pre-existing Trader Joe’s employees from the James Street location as well as newly hired employees.

The store is open every day from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.
