BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More students will see financial relief at a local college thanks to a historic donation.

Bellingham Technical College (BTC) says an anonymous donor has gifted the school $780,000 to support its students and programs. It’s the second-largest donation BTC has ever received, with the largest of $1.2 million coming from the same donor in December 2022.

According to the college, the latest round of funds will be used to support student scholarships and buy up-to-date equipment for them to use in various programs.

BTC’s Foundation Director Dean Fulton says the generous gift will help relieve financial stress for more students and offer them the relevant tools they need before heading into the workforce.

Scholarship applications at BTC are open from April 15 through June 30.

The college says it provided funding for about 85% of students who applied this academic year.
