BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham Starbucks location has made history as more locations vote to unionize.

Starbucks Workers United announced that the Old Fairhaven Parkway location has become the 500th store to unionize nationwide. They’re now the fourth unionized Starbucks in Bellingham, joining stores in Sehome Village, Iowa and King, and Cordata Center.

In an open letter to newly minted CEO Brian Niccol, Old Fairhaven workers say that staffing and micromanaging are hindering their ability to do their jobs effectively.

Employees from eight other U.S. locations also signed off on the letter.
