Bellingham man cited for alleged DUI involving city vehicle

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man was cited after an alleged DUI incident involving a city vehicle.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says that the crash occurred on the morning of Monday, Dec. 22 on Squalicum Parkway.

The driver, identified as a 46-year-old man, was hurt after crashing into an unoccupied City of Bellingham work vehicle. Witnesses reported that the driver was speeding at the time of the collision.

Staff at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center added that the driver was likely under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was cited and released for additional medical treatment.
