Bellingham man arrested in connection to reported stabbing that sent one to the hospital

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man was arrested in connection to a reported stabbing that sent someone to the hospital over the weekend.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater tells My Bellingham Now that someone reported that their neighbor had been stabbed on the Guide just north of E. Kelly Road on Saturday.

Deputies arrived around 2:15 p.m. to find two people leaving the residence, one of whom had a bandage on their arm.

The victim told deputies that a 32-year-old man had stabbed them, before the victim was sent to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment of their undisclosed injuries.

The suspect admitted to deputies that he hurt someone but did not specify who it was.

An investigation found probable cause to arrest him for first-degree assault, domestic violence.

The man remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $1 million bail.
