BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The man accused of recklessly riding a homemade motorbike on Bellingham trails has been arrested.

Police spokesperson Megan Peters says that witnesses and officers initially took notice of the suspect’s actions on Sept. 4.

A public alert was sent out on Sept. 6 after more people came forward about the suspect creating safety issues on city trails and roads. A BPD employee saw the suspect later that day near the police station and alerted officers.

The suspect, 18-year-old Clardy Cartwright, was arrested and taken into custody on Sept. 6.

KGMI previously reported that Cartwright is facing a child rape charge in a separate case where he allegedly lied to the victim about his age.
