Backcountry Essentials celebrates 20 years in business

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A local outfitter for recreationalists is celebrating 20 years in business.

Backcountry Essentials (1417 N State St.) will host special events, workshops, deals and a party to mark the occasion. The store is offering vendor promos and free storage waxes on skis and snowboards all month long.

With summer just around the bend, it is a great opportunity to stock up on all your outdoor gear to safely hit the trails or get your winter gear ready for storage.

If you are interested in backpacking, customers can register for a Backpacking Prep workshop on May 20 at 7 p.m. Then on Friday, May 29, aspiring rock climbers can try out the latest climbing shoes next door at Vital Bellingham.

The big event is the Backcountry Anniversary Party on Friday, May 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees can enter a raffle to win prizes while perusing the aisles enjoying drinks, snacks and music.
