WENATCHEE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Authorities have narrowed the manhunt for the father suspected of killing his three young daughters.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert on Monday night for people near the Ingalls Creek area west of Wenatchee.
The agency says 32-year-old Travis Decker is believed to be in the area, where there remains a large police presence. Residents are being asked to secure their homes and vehicles and call 9-1-1 if they see anything.
Decker is believed to have killed his 5, 8 and 9-year-old daughters after their bodies were found at a campground near Leavenworth last week.
A large amount of evidence was recovered from Decker’s truck at the scene, including blood samples identified as that of a man and another that was not human blood.
Since then, the Sheriff’s Office has handed the search over to federal authorities.
According to court documents obtained by KOMO, Decker searched the internet for how to move to Canada and how to find a job there in the days leading up to the search.
There’s still been no known sign of Decker, who received extensive survival training during his time in the military.
