Annual dry dock outage cuts Lummi Island ferry service until May

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Lummi Island ferry will be running on limited service for the next few weeks.

Whatcom County Public Works says the Whatcom Chief’s annual dry dock outage begins on Saturday, April 26 and is expected to last until Sunday, May 11.

During that time, there will pedestrian-only ferry service between Lummi Island and Gooseberry Point.

Service will be interrupted on Saturday morning during the dry dock switchover before the passenger ferry begins making trips around noon. The ferry will also be out of service on Sunday until roughly 2 p.m. while gangways are installed at both terminals.
