WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Applications are now open for those who want to improve our county’s public infrastructure.

Whatcom County’s Economic Development Investment program is offering up to $10 million in grants and low-interest loans for approved applicants.

Qualifying projects that could be considered for part of those funds include affordable housing and utility expansion, among others.

The program was previously limited to public organizations, but non-profit housing organizations are being encouraged to apply for funding this year.

Prior funds were allocated for trail extensions in Lynden and utility installation at a business park north of Ferndale.

Applications are due by June 30 and can be found on the county website.
