WWU volleyball team wins opener at nationals

The Western Washington University women’s volleyball team won its opening round match at the national tournament in Pittsburgh Thursday beating Tarleton State of Texas 25-21, 25-22 and 25-23. The 2nd-ranked Vikings extended their winning streak to 29 consecutive matches.

Western moves on to play Lewis University of Illinois in the national semifinals Friday at 1:00 PM Pacific.
