Whidbey Island crash kills 1 and hospitalizes 5

OAK HARBOR, Wash. — A man is dead and five people were sent to the hospital after two SUVs crashed into each other on Highway 20 near Oak Harbor Saturday afternoon.

The State Patrol says a woman failed to yield at the Frostad Road intersection on the North Cascades Highway, causing another driver to hit her SUV.

A 50-year-old man riding with her was killed in the crash.

The remaining victims of the crash were all hospitalized, and the woman was later arrested and booked into Island County Jail.
