Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Ira Uhrig passes away

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Ira Uhrig has died.

The Bellingham Herald reports he passed away Monday after battling lymphoma for several years.

Uhrig was elected to the Superior Court in 2004 after serving as a Whatcom County District Court judge.

Outside of court he was known for his skill as a bagpiper.
