PHOENIX, AZ (AP) – A Whatcom County man in prison leads Arizona police to suspects and remains in a murder case.

Craig Strong, 23, is held on unrelated charges and police say he recently admitted to being involved in a December 2014 homicide in Phoenix.

After learning about the unreported killing, Phoenix Police found the remains of 54-year-old Darren Van Eaton and learned a woman living across the street had been spending Eaton’s Social Security benefits.

Police arrested 24-year-old Teniqua Reed for fraud and theft.

Strong implicated 48-year-old George Reed by name, but he is also already in custody on unrelated charges.

Phoenix Police are now trying to extradite Strong who is set to be released later this year.
