BELLINGHAM, Wash. –  Here is a chance for septic system owners to get to know what is below.

Whatcom County Health and Community Services is offering free training for owners to conduct required inspections themselves.

The two hour forums will help owners learn septic inspection and maintenance, connect them with local system specialists and offer rebates for services.

Whatcom County code requires septic systems to be inspected annually or every three years, depending on the type of system.

The training sessions are June 21st in Maple Falls, August 12th in Ferndale and September 16th on Point Roberts.
