BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A mother is going to prison for allowing her husband to molest her teenage daughter and sometimes taking part in the abuse.

Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Lee Grochmal sentenced Kristi Lynn Johnston on Monday to two years and three months in prison, followed by three years of supervision.

Court records show she pleaded guilty to a charge of 2nd degree child molestation for the abuse that began in 2015 when the girl was 13 years old.

She and her husband, Damian Johnston, admitted to the abuse that continued until their arrest in 2019.

Damian Johnston is still awaiting trial.
