WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Recent rains have prompted the Whatcom County Fire Marshall’s office to end the ban on outdoor burning.
It lifted the ban at 9 a.m. Monday.
Burning is now allowed in unincorporated parts of Whatcom County.
But a permit is still required for all but small, recreational fires.
The Fire Marshall says permanent bans on outdoor burning remain in effect in most cities in the county.
