Warm weather helps clear Mt. Baker Highway to Artist Point

MT. BAKER, Wash. — Work is well underway to clear the way to Artist Point.

The Department of Transportation says crews will work ten hour days Monday through Friday to clear the final 2.7 miles of the Mount Baker Highway.

Thanks to recent warm and sunny weather, snow levels have dropped several feet from April measurements.

The road is usually reopened sometime in July.
