VIDEO: Lummi Nation Police incident caught on video causes concern

/Jake Hazel

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Lummi police are reviewing an incident that took place this weekend.

A video of the incident was posted on social media, stirring up concerns among community members.

The video shows Lummi police officers addressing a group of Lummi women who had called them to deal with a group of men harassing them on the beach.

The women were upset when, instead of dealing with the men, the officers focused on the women.

They asked if they had been drinking and breathalyzed one woman.

The Lummi Nation Police Department issued a release about the incident on Facebook Sunday, saying that the incident is being reviewed by multiple individuals and they hope the community understands that the incident is not a reflection of all LNPD.
