WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested one of two suspects they’ve been looking for this week in connection with the murder of a young Sedro-Woolley woman last Saturday.

Arrest records show 23-year-old Tyler James O’Keefe was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of murder and robbery charges early Thursday.

Investigators say he and 25-year-old Payton Thomas Mulryan were involved in a drug deal that turned into a robbery and led to the death of Darian Sather at South Fork County Park in Acme.

The 21-year-old woman was run over by the suspects’ vehicle as they fled after stealing money from her and her friends.

Mulryan is still at large.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 47-year-old Brent S. Gerber in connection with the crime early Monday.
