ORCAS, Wash. — A man in San Juan County with a long history of working in Tibetan healing methods is accused of identifying and advertising himself as a doctor, despite having no license to practice medicine.
The Department of Health told Bradley Dobos, also known as Amchi Thubten Lekshe, earlier this month that it will issue him a cease-and-desist order.
According to the Tanaduk Botanical Research Institute of Traditional Himalayan Medicine, Dobos opened the Tanaduk Clinic of Tibetan Medicine on Orcas Island, and has been practicing medicine in the Northwest since 1977.
The East Bay Times reports Dobos and his wife ran the Tibetan Goji Berry Company in Seattle which sold and shipped the berries that rose in popularity in the early 2000s as a miracle fruit, though doctors call the expensive berry a scam.
