SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. – Two people were killed in separate car accidents over the weekend in Skagit County.

The Washington State Patrol says that 87-year-old Allan Kelly was hit and killed Friday night around 6 p.m. on Mclean Road in Mount Vernon.

Kelly had been walking on the side of the road when he was hit.

Investigators add that the driver who hit him may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Hours later, a car trying to evade a traffic stop slammed into the back of another car in Burlington.

The driver, 24-year-old Alex Flores Rosales, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second car was uninjured.
