MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The Skagit County woman accused of a fatal shooting in Big Lake has been charged with murder.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports 55-year-old Angela Marie Conijn was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 32-year-old Kamran Cohee of Arlington.

Charging documents say Cohee and a man pulled into the Conijn’s driveway, allegedly so he could let air out of the tires of his vehicle.

Conijn’s husband says he believed they were trying to steal a political sign and went outside.

A fight ensued and according to the other man, the husband eventually punched him in the face and returned inside.

Cohee and the other man then allegedly began beating on the house’s front door with a wheelbarrow, at which point Angela Conijn is alleged to have fired the gun, striking Cohee.

Angela Conijn is being held on $500,000 bail.
