Several Whatcom County players are named to first and second All Northwest Conference Teams

The 2018-19 All Northwest Conference Teams have been announced. Lynden Christian’s Cole Bajema has been named the Conference MVP. Lynden’s Clayton Whitman and Christian Zamora along with Lynden Christian’s Cristian Colwell, Eddy Hochsprung from Sehome and Sequoyah Julius from Ferndale have been named to the First Team All Northwest Conference. Andrew DeVries from LC, Squalicum’s Devante Powell, Stew Freeman from Ferndale and Jackson Short from Meridian were named to the Second Team. Meridian assistant coach Rob Gray is Assistant Coach of the Year.

For the girls, Lynden’s Keylie Hershey and Ruby VanderHaak along with Danielle Tyler from Mount Baker, Meridian’s Jolee Sipma, and Lynden Christian’s Isabela Hernandez and Grace Sterk were named to the First Team All Northwest Conference. On the Second Team is Brianna Byrnes from Ferndale, LC’s Riley Dykstra, Nooksack Valley’s Jenna Tenkley, Lindsey Moore from Meridian, Lynden’s Liv Tjoelker, Aspen Garrison from Sehome and Kim Weden from Ferndale. Lynden girl’s coach Rob Adams has been named Varsity Coach of the Year.
