SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — Sedro-Woolley will revamp their downtown area to boost local business while preserving its small-town charm.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports Sedro-Woolley joined the nationally recognized Main Street America program earlier this year under leadership from new Mayor Julia Johnson.
The nationwide program aims to grow local business by revitalizing the main corridors in cities and communities across the country.
With the program, the Sedro-Woolley Downtown Association has been created to concentrate efforts on this revival and organize interactive city events.
Last month, the city council voted to donate up to $100,000 to the cause.
