SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez has temporarily stopped the government from revoking a Mexican man’s DACA protections.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program protects those brought to the US illegally as children.

Daniel Ramirez Medina’s enrollment in the program was set to expire Tuesday, but a federal judge ordered U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to maintain the 25-year-old’s status.

Medina was arrested and readied for deportation early last year despite having no criminal record.
