SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) – After three hours on the first day of June, the record was broken for the wettest Seattle rainy season in more than a century.
The Seattle Times reports even if it doesn’t rain at all for the rest of June, the 47.24 inches of rain recorded in the past eight months is the most since record-keeping began in 1895.
The National Weather Service says the prior record for the period was set last year with 47.23 inches.
