Risky activities for Whatcom County residents when avoiding COVID-19

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Whatcom County Health Department says avoiding risky activities is a key to staying free of the coronavirus and they’ve made a chart comparing the risks of different activities.

Your risk is pretty low if you’re going for a walk, run or bike ride or getting takeout from a restaurant.

It increases if you go to the dentist, walk in a busy public area, go grocery shopping or stay in a hotel.

Then come bowling alleys, airplanes and backyard BBQ’s.

Second highest risk are casinos, indoor restaurant seating, hair salons and barber shops.

The riskiest activities are large music concerts, bars, gyms, churches and sports stadiums.
