FERNDALE, Wash. — The Head Baseball Coach at Ferndale High School says “‘Thank you’ doesn’t quite do it,” for the hundreds of volunteer hours that went into completely revitalizing the Golden Eagle Ballfields.
The School District says Greg Ebe of Ebe Farms along with Bo Westford and others all came up with this project and spent hundreds of hours in the cold and rain this winter implementing it.
Ebe, his team, Westford and others took tractors, sprayers and bulldozers to level the field, remove truck-fields of dirt, build irrigation drainage, move home plate, plus re-seed and tend to new grass.
Head Baseball Coach Donny Hennigs says the fields needed a lot of attention and this volunteer effort gave the school “one of the best baseball fields in the county.”
The District Athletic Director and Superintendent all echoed Hennigs in their deep appreciation for something they say would not have been possible otherwise.
