Red Cross installing free smoke detectors in Bellingham mobile homes

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Red Cross will install free smoke alarms at two mobile home parks in Bellingham this weekend.

Betsy Robertson with the Red Cross says volunteers will be at Lakeway Estates on Lincoln Street on Saturday and Mill Wheel Park on Flynn Street on Sunday.

She says they’ll install smoke alarms, put new batteries in existing alarms and help families create escape plans.

You can also get an alarm from the Red Cross if you don’t live in one of these communities by going to getasmokealarm.org.
