BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A homeless camper was injured at the Geri fields tent camp following a propane explosion Thursday afternoon.
Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy told the Bellingham Herald the incident involved multiple tanks around 1:30 PM.
When Bellingham Fire arrived, they found a tent and make shift structures on fire.
At 4 this morning, camp operations appeared to be back to much as they have been, with the aid tent lit, a few campers up and about, and a bonfire burning.
The BOP Mutual Aid Instagram page that has been soliciting volunteer help and donations, including propane for the camp, made no mention of the fire, instead posting a video critical of Mayor Seth Fleetwood later in the day yesterday.
