Potential new building plans for long-time burger joint in Fairhaven

BELLINGHAM, WA – A new burger joint doesn’t appear to be in the blueprints for the location of a former Fairhaven staple.

Planning notices posted on the Zane Burger restaurant on 12th Street state that the building could be demolished and replaced with a two-story building.

Developers from Everett-based Dykeman Architecture and Design have proposed housing a bank branch on the first floor and office space upstairs.

Zane Burger closed in October 2022, six years after taking over the former Win’s Drive-In spot.

There’s no word on what will happen to the 1964 Ford Falcon perched on the building’s roof once plans are approved.

A virtual public hearing regarding the site’s redevelopment is set for Thursday at 6pm.

You can access the Zoom-powered virtual public hearing by registering in advance at this link.
